Long Live Liverpool!!!

The ever present Skipper after scoring the decisive goal *

They needed something special to go thru to the nxt round. They trailed 1-0 at half time from a goal by Rivaldo and all hope was lost as they had to win by a 2 goal margin.

It has been a long time since they have won a game by 2 goals especially while trailing but something Rafael Benitez said must have spurred them. Not forgeting that Rafa being the master tactician he is known as, changed tactics by bringing in Pongolle and his decision was rewarded immediately as 1 minute into the 2nd half Pongolle scored from an excellent cross by Kewell who if in form can be magical with his ball skills.

1-1.

There was some hope as the fans started to chant their heads off to spur the team for another goal. Then chance after chance nothin seemed to be going Liverpool's way but then Rafa introduced Mellor into the game and he did not disappoint as on the 80th minute he scored a goal to bring the score to 2-1. Anfield exploded!!

Liverpool continued to push and 6 minutes later, guess who scored? Who else but the Skipper of the team. Gerrard unleashed a screamer which nearly broke thru the netting. *I screamed, Nicholas screamed for joy at this time* Once again Anfield erupted and the pressure was on for the team to stick together to maintain the 2 goal advantage. Olympiacos pushed on to score one more but the liverpool held on to win a very magical and unforgetable game.

What a game? Waking up to watch the game was the best decision I made in a week...

GO LIVERPOOL!!!!

*YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE*

Oh yeah man, I watched that game in the middle of the night as well. I thought Liverpool were gonners, if they had any chance they needed an early goal. And that pretty set up the pattern for the rest of the match. Actually in a way it sets up the Premiership style neatly - wave after wave of pacy attack on the Greek defence. And my jaw did drop after the Gerard goal!

Shame about the Chelsea result at the weekend though. We could have done with the reds winning that one.

So any updates on 'the girl' mentioned in the post above?

Oh and do you actually want me to answer those questions on the left of your blog or are they rhetorical and you expect no answers?? For instance, rainbows are because of the refraction of light going raindrops due to the sun - that's why you will only see them on a sunny rainy day! I still remember a few from the Art Towers day!! I try to remember these sort of facts because I know one day Ben will ask me some similar questions!!!
