Tsunami

As you all should know that last weekend there was a big earthquake that happen in the Aceh Province in Indonesia that contributed to one of the biggest disasters in years. Many lives has been lost due to this. The number of death is rising as the day goes by and it is predicted that the number would go above the 100k.

When I came in to the office today the first thing I did was read the latest headlines. So many people had perished. Beaches which were once serine and beautiful has now become a disease infected slum. Peoples life and belongings has been destroyed. It will take years and millions for things to get back to how it was.

Anyway my cousin sent me some video clips which were taken by people who were at the scene of the disasters. While watchin it my heart was just filled with great sadness and sorrow. Tears nearly rolled out of my eyes while watchin it. How can an earthquake thousand of miles away create so much havoc? I found out that some African countries were also affected by this.

Watching the clips made me realise that how unpredictable life is? People nowadays are only busy making more money and not cherishing the people around them. I have come to the conclusion that I will cherish my family and friends more. I will take life easier one day at a time and learn to enjoy it instead of worryin too much about making more money.

I would like to take this opportunity to send my condolences to all that has lost their loved ones. I pray that God would bless them and bring them peace and also guide them to pickup their lifes once again.

And here is a little request from me. If you are able to please do contribute to the Tsunami Fund. It doesn't matter what amount you contribute and every little sen counts. Maybank has set up the following Maybank Accounts, No. 114013169092 and No. 514011389072 for the Fund. For more information please go to Maybank2U and click on the Tsunami Relief Banner.

Would just like to thank you all who have contributed and I will continue praying that things would get better soon for everyone.

Christmas - Come and Gone

Christmas has once again come and gone. Time flies doesn't it. It was only last year that I was have half blind due to the lasek surgery. Due to that I couldn't go for service. Anyway this year I managed to go for Candlelight service. This was the first time I had been to CGMC for like 2 years.

Anyway Christmas eve started as usual with work. Half day work that is. The company decided that cause we were so hardworkin during the year they should reward us with half day leave and also a christmas lunch. Lunch was alrite. Was held at a little cafe called Highway Cafe somewhere in Serdang and it cost RM55++ per person. I was sitting there thinkin that due to the managements laziness and stupidity the company was spending that amount per person at a dingy cafe when we could have gone to a nice place ie TGIF or Chillies for a more filling and delicious meal.

After the meal I had to rush to pick up Calvin and Lina from Puchong then drive all the way to Pantai to fetch my aunty and as I predicted we were caught in a jam. The bloody drive that would normally take 15mins took 30mins instead. Pissed off big time but then manage to pick me aunty up and started the journey home. Calvin and line were fast asleep during the trip and I had to layan my aunty. Was good actually cause I managed to talk to her about her family and just catch up cause although we are family and stay so close to each other in Ipoh, I didn't know much on what is happening with her family ie my cousins. Anyway took us 2hrs to get back to Ipoh. I'm so glad that we left early as I later found out that the highway was jam packed by nite fall.

Well send everyone home respectively and the rushed home to prepare for Christmas Dinner. We were initially suppose to go out for dinner but then my parents decided that we should have a quiet family dinner at home. Would have been so much betta if my bro was around. Hey bro come back nxt year for Christmas lah.

My Parents and I

After dinner just hung around the house with my parents. Being the fickle me kept on changin my mind on whether or not to go for service cause I dunwan to be seen as someone who only appears to church once a year but at 9.30 decided to go as almost everyone was going to be there. Not a good reason to go but heck who cares.

Service was good. Skit was good. Met a few of my friends whom I have not seen for ages ie 2-3 years. Couldn't even recognise my lil cousin Julia whom I had not seen in 2 years. She has changed so much. All grown up.

Went for 'Ngar Choi Kai' with the gang after service.. should have take photos but forgot. Then proceded to meet up with derek, sulit and ling ee in East. Where else but Y2K can one go in Ipoh during the weekend. Never remembered that Ipoh had so many lenglui at one place at one time so had a good time just checking them out with Jon and Calvin. We just check out and as usual nvr did anything. We are a bunch of useless guys unfortunately. Hung out till around 3 then went home to get some needed R&R.

Woke up at half 9 and procratinated again on whether or not to go for service. Talk to parents a bit, read the paper, check some mail and then it was 1130 already...hahaha so changed and met the ppl up for lunch instead. Was a lazy day so just went for yc sessions and some snooker with jon, calvin, damian, peter, munhing and kevin till it was time for dinner.

After dinner went to Coffee Bean to chill while waiting to go for movie. Met up annli whom I have not seen for like 7 years. I couldn't recognise her until sulit brought her over to the table although she was sitting just a few tables away. My bad :P. Anyway watched KungFu Hustle. Only 1 word can be used to describe the show. 'FAI' *wrong spelling I think*. It was too over the top although it was expected since it is a Stephen Chow movie. Was funny and all but haiii... too much 'Fai-ness' for me liking.

Sent everyone home after the movie and as I was driving home I suddenly had the craving for Lok-Lok so drove to South and started to indulge on the ever so delicious and cheap lok-lok *Mel remember the time infront of Y2K. Damn good memories* which are half the price of the ones you can get in KL. Everything in KL is overpriced... Called jon and cal to join me and we just stood there eating till for 30mins. It was already 230am but then the stall was still full of ppl. I think I should consider openin one myself. Anyone interested to do a join venture.

Sunday was another R&R day. Slept till 11. Went for lunch with parents and relatives. Then yumcha till evening. Mom complained that I should have been home resting as I had to drive back to kl alone. Left for KL at 6pm and reached at 840pm. Jam man... normally would take me 1hr 45mins to 2hrs. Ish was so sleepy and bored. Anwyay got home and did my normal thing ie watch tv till late then watch some footie..Liverpool vs WBA which liverpool won 5-0. Wish I didn't go to bed after the 1st half. Couldn't take it anymore..to tired. Missed all the goals. *Shucks*

Well thats all for my xmas week. Lookin forward for the New Year and more Xmases to come. Hopefully would be able to attend Carl Cox on Wed. WHO WANTS TO GO!!!!! And hopefully NYE would be as good. Till then Happy New Year ppl and to Wendy Liew.... HAPPY BDAY!!!!

Sleepy

I have been wondering the whole afternoon why I have been feelin so darn sleepy and I just remembered that I slept at 3am. Not only that, the stupid exec bus broke down half way from sg and had to wait an hour just for a replacement bus to arrive although we were informed that it would take 30mins. Luckily the bus managed to go all the way to Pagoh Rest Stop if not we would be stranded on the highway. Instead of a 5hr trip it became a 8hr trip.

Only got home at around 12. Showered, while waiting for hair to dry was watching tv and also footie results... Liverpool won 3-1 against Newcastle which was a relieved. Somehow time just flew and when I finished my tv it was 3am. Now I'm so darn sleepy.... arghhh help me!!!!

Sg Trip

During the weekend I went over to SG to attend Julia's Wedding. She was my housemate from UK and one of my bestest and dearest friend. We've been through a lot during our years in Sheffield and she was the one who pulled me out of the dark hole which I was digging for myself. Without her I think things could have been really really different for me.

My Best Friend

Anyway she is now officially married to Caled whom she has been going out for nearly 7 years. The ceremony was very interesting. Began with a normal procession. The exchanging of vows. All the normal stuff then there was a presentation by Julia's Sunday school kids which was nice. She eventually joined them and started dancing to it which I thought was nice.

Juls and her Sunday School Kids

At the end Caleb had a surprise presentation for Julia. He played the violin to her and we were informed that he had never ever showed her his violin skills. He was good and I'm sure she was touched.

Juls & Caleb

After the wedding ceremony I went walk around sg which was nice as I really needed to catch up with some friends ie tuan, jason, huiqi, dorcus. We went to the city for coffee and just chatted about the good days and the huiqi and dorcus had to leave as they needed to 'pan lengleng' for the dinner later in the day. So the guys just hung around and walk around the IT mall to see what there is to buy. One thing i realise in sg is that Ipods are a big thing. They are everywhere and they are given free when you buy like a pc or sign up for broadband. Why oh Why Malaysia dun have this kind of stuff? I want an Ipod....Anyone out there nice enuff to get me one?

Dinner was very interesting as it was held in a museum - Asian Heritage Museum at Empress Place, just across the river from Boat Quay.

Boat Quat At nite

The dinner was held was buffet styled and was mostly asian food. hmm I just realised why the food wasn't chinese...cause it was an Asian Theme. Here are a few photo's of the dinner

Dinner was nice. Got a bit high but then after that went to meet tuan, chellie and paul across the river. Just sat around chit chatting and enjoyin the scenery. Boat Quay is nice at nite. A lot of ppl just sitting around hanging out. Then went to McD to just grab a bite to eat. Sat awhile then went home to get some well needed rest.

Someone Special

I met someone recently. I think she is nice. Been out with her twice and I've enjoyed both times. Met her at a club where she is workin part time as a promoter. She is studying at ATC for her advertising degree. Although we just met I feel very comfortable being around her and I hope she feels the same. I dunno what I should do but I feel she could finally be the one. Will just try to spend more time with her and see if there is a chemistry there. Pray for me ppl that I would break my near 9 years of singlehood. So tune in as I would keep you ppl updated.   *Smiling from one ear to the next*

Long Live Liverpool!!!

The ever present Skipper after scoring the decisive goal *

They needed something special to go thru to the nxt round. They trailed 1-0 at half time from a goal by Rivaldo and all hope was lost as they had to win by a 2 goal margin.

It has been a long time since they have won a game by 2 goals especially while trailing but something Rafael Benitez said must have spurred them. Not forgeting that Rafa being the master tactician he is known as, changed tactics by bringing in Pongolle and his decision was rewarded immediately as 1 minute into the 2nd half Pongolle scored from an excellent cross by Kewell who if in form can be magical with his ball skills.

1-1.

There was some hope as the fans started to chant their heads off to spur the team for another goal. Then chance after chance nothin seemed to be going Liverpool's way but then Rafa introduced Mellor into the game and he did not disappoint as on the 80th minute he scored a goal to bring the score to 2-1. Anfield exploded!!

Liverpool continued to push and 6 minutes later, guess who scored? Who else but the Skipper of the team. Gerrard unleashed a screamer which nearly broke thru the netting. *I screamed, Nicholas screamed for joy at this time* Once again Anfield erupted and the pressure was on for the team to stick together to maintain the 2 goal advantage. Olympiacos pushed on to score one more but the liverpool held on to win a very magical and unforgetable game.

What a game? Waking up to watch the game was the best decision I made in a week...

GO LIVERPOOL!!!!

*YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE*

Banana

I'm a banana.A half banana to be exact. Why do I say that? It cause I'm yellow outside but white inside. And what do I mean by that? Well although I'm chinese and I can speak cantonese, I can't speak, read or write mandarin if my life depended on it as you all know mandarin is the official chinese language - 'poh tung hua'.
I need to pick it up but as always it cost money. Cousin attending one which cost her rm350 for 5 week lessons. After that lesson have to go for nxt level and so forth. Each time the price would go higher and at the end of the day would cost her like a few k. Where am I going to get that kind of cash?
But then in this day and age where companies are venturing into china, mandarin is essential. It opens up new opportunities. Opportunities that can ensure my dream of being retired early to come true. Hmmm why oh why did I not concentrate on mandarin classes when I was younger. *piakz* stupid alvin...

1 Down 3 To Go

Its happening again. Dwindling down even further to extinction. The future is not bright. The horizon is uncertain. There was 4 and soon it will be 3. Oh what will become of us.
